Timeline

Since its inception, Unico has been instrumental in revolutionizing the way industrial automation works. Coming of age, our vision and strategy have always ensured the highest value proposition for our customers. We retrace the highlights of our remarkable journey.
1970, Industrial Computerization

Unico became one of the first to usher motor controls into the age of computers. At our disposal, engineers at Unico used the technology and developed peripheral components that made minicomputers practical in industry application back then.

1989, SyncBus Innovation

Unico LLC came up with an innovation that became a standard networking product for many years in the future. SyncBus was a high-speed communication protocol that enabled real-time synchronization of multiple axes.

1984, Graphical Human-machine Interface

Unico has always strived to create new applications to share with the world and make their life easier at work. With this in mind, we were among the first people to develop user-friendly and graphically informative front ends for factory floors.

2003, Enhancing Drive Technology

Technological advances in drive technology created a resurgence with a special focus on electricity. Unico's drive technology gave operators the ability to produce efficient electronic devices including electric vehicles and continue to improve the bottom line.

1993, Module Manufacturing

Unico LLC restructured its drive manufacturing facilities to accommodate the increase in volume, provide competitive cost and better quality. This helped us to become one of the first domestic producers of drives and modules in the US.

2021, Developing a Digital Future

Unico highlights its potential to revolutionize production, not only by transforming operations but also by developing new products and services to customers and enabling end-to-end visibility across the supply chain in real-time.

2023, Battery Testing Milestone, 7100 Series

In 2023, we introduced the groundbreaking 7100 Series for battery cell testing. Engineered for versatility and delivering top-tier performance, it has become the preferred choice of industry experts across R&D and production. Be part of our journey in shaping the future of battery testing.

1967, The Inception

A vision shared by seven engineers gave birth to Unico Engineering. The vision was aimed at helping industries to advance in their world. The goal was to create electronic and not hydraulic products, keeping the future of motion control in mind.

1976, Wound-Field DC Motors

The search for a very low inertia electric motor led Unico engineers to explore wound-field DC motors as replacements for expensive permanent-magnet motors. This breakthrough yielded performance equal to or better than the permanent-magnet type.
